My question is -- how did you do the dark triangles on your white cloak? I know your friend sewed hers on, but yours appear not to have seams. Did you paint them on? They're very even!
Good eye, I didn't sew my triangles on, I used heat n' bond! It's an iron-on adhesive for fabrics sold in sheets, you iron one side of the adhesive to the wrong side of your triangle fabric, then cut out the triangles, making sure each one is perfectly even. Then you place them on your cloak fabric and iron it all on! You can also stitch around each triangle like Tina did with her glyphs, but I chose to stitch around the edges of my gold borders instead to make them look more defined against the grey triangles. I did the same thing with my scarf, which you can't see in these photos, but the gold fabric is all stitched on while the silver is heat n' bonded.
I'll be at Dragon*Con this year, so I hope I run into you guys! Journey costumes are so much fun to wear, you guys are going to have a blast! :3
HAVE ALL OF MY FAVOURITES.
